Moveable work platform

A moveable work platform is as the name proposes it a portable machine for moving individuals to momentary working positions. The driver has the option to effortlessly jump on and off. The point of this machinery is to give the driver the ideal work height, while still being protected in the heightened position.

A moveable work platform comprises of a platform with rails for safety, a scissor lift mechanism that makes the platform lift into the air and a base frame that stabilized the process. See more about the Translyft work platforms here. 

You may see a need for this sort of equipment when working if you are an electrician, a painter or doing tasks in various heights for shorter periods of time. A variety of trades use the mobile work platforms, spanning different sectors of manufacturing, from port operations, stock picking, various warehousing operations to electrical production and procurement.

Safety first

The risk involved with operating at heights should be taken into consideration, thus all the required safety precautions, such as equipping the operator with a proper head gear and, in some cases, a safety belt to minimize the risk of falling.

Inaccurate evaluation of the unsafe condition or lack of maintenance are the major risks involved with the operation of the moveable work platform. Accidents involving the use of the Moveable Work Platform are more likely to occur if the operator has not undergone adequate training or has neglected training.


When operators lean over the guardrails when running the equipment, one of many reasons possibly contributing to injuries can be observed. Therefore, the right guidance and planning for the employee, engaging in rigorous instruction, is important. It is the responsibility of the employee to provide both an operational device and the means to operate it safely.
