What is the difference between a stainless steel lift table and a hygienic design lift table?
A stainless steel lift table is manufactured using corrosion-resistant stainless steel, but this alone does not necessarily make the complete machine hygienically designed. Some components like the cylinder may not be of stainless steel and if intensive cleaning is required this could be an issue.
A hygienic design lifting table also considers how the equipment is constructed. Surfaces, joints, components and drainage are designed to reduce areas where water, dirt and product residue can collect. In the TRANSLYFT Hygienic Design the lifting tables can tilt the entire platform making it easier to clean underneath. This makes cleaning more efficient and reduces the use of water and detergent.

What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel?
AISI 304 and 316 are commonly used grades of stainless steel. Grade 304 provides good corrosion resistance and is suitable for many indoor food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications.
Grade 316 contains 2% molybdenum, which makes it better at resisting salt, chlorides and acid. Therefore, it is often favored in coastal locations, in processes involving salt and corrosive substances, and in harsher washdown environments.
The correct grade should be selected after assessing the environment and cleaning procedure. At Translyft we offer both AISI 304 and 316.

Can stainless steel lifting tables be washed down?
Yes, som stainless steel lifting solutions can. As long as the lifting tables is designed for wash down and prepared it for the intended cleaning process. Cleaning frequency, chemicals, water pressure, and temperature can all affect electrical parts, hydraulic components, seals, and surface finishes.

Does stainless steel ever rust?
Stainless steel is highly corrosion-resistant, however, not entirely immune to rust and corrosion. If the correct stainless steel grade is chosen and the machine is well taken care of with maintenance and suitable cleaning. This will help to protect the lifting solution, prevent corrosion, and prolong the lifetime.
Be careful of exposure to chlorides, damaged surface, incorrect material selection, harsh chemicals, carbon steel contamination, and insufficient cleaning. All these things can have an impact on the lifting solutions performance.

What lifting capacity can a stainless steel lifting solution provide?
Translyft can deliver stainless steel solutions in both lighter handling tasks or heavy industrial loads. However, the most common is between 500 – 2000 kg.
To find the needed lifting capacity you must take into consideration the object type, how the load will med distribution on the lifting table (see more on safe working load here), lifting height, platform dimensions, and operating conditions. The total load must include the product, pallet or container, pallet lifter, and any other equipment placed on the platform.

Can a stainless steel lift table improve ergonomics?
Yes. A lifting table is designed to make handling of heavy items easier and more ergonomic and does so by minimizing the need for lifting, bending and reaching. This can improve working conditions while palletising, depalletising, packing, processing, machine loading, and assembly.

Can stainless steel lifting equipment be installed directly on the floor?
Yes. Many stainless steel lifting solutions, including low-profile lifting tables and pallet lifters, can be installed directly on the floor. This makes a the installation easier as a pit Is not required.
For larger lifting solutions a pit can be necessary to stabilize the lift. A pit is also beneficial if you want the lifting solution to be flush with the floor.

Are stainless steel lifting solutions available for ATEX areas?
Yes. Stainless steel lifting solutions can also be made in an explosion-proof edition. A stainless steel solutions is mostly concerned with the surface treatment of the equipment whereas ATEX considers the components and wiring to make it safe for explosive environments.
