Goods lifts

A TRANSLYFT goods lift is a lifting platform that facilitates the ergonomic transport of materials from one level to another. Our goods lifts are designed for use between different floors and mezzanines up to 4500 mm and are based on our robust scissor lift construction. A goods lift is especially useful in warehouses or retail environments where large quantities of goods need to be moved vertically.

A TRANSLYFT goods lift enhances both efficiency and productivity while reducing the physical strain on your employees caused by frequent bending and lifting. Since a goods lift can carry multiple pallets at once, it saves time and significantly increases operational efficiency.

A goods lift is a safe and stable solution that is built to last for many years.

We supply both standard and custom-made goods lifts. Regardless of the specifications, every lift is based on a strong construction, easy maintenance, and high safety standards.

The goods lift can be delivered complete with shaft, doors, gates, handrails, and scissor protection such as bellows or chain mesh. For safety, all doors and gates are supplied with interlock systems. The lift can be mounted on an existing wall or installed as a freestanding unit.

With many years of experience in manufacturing goods lifts, we can help you find exactly the right solution for your business. There may be space limitations or specific requirements regarding dimensions or capacity. No matter the challenge, we can deliver the goods lift that fits your workflow and needs.

What are Goods Lifts?

At TRANSLYFT, our goods lifts are more than just machinery. They are engineered solutions carefully designed to enhance how businesses optimally transport materials between levels. Whether you require a compact hydraulic goods lift for a warehouse or a robust cargo lift for high-capacity use, our systems are built with precision and purpose.

Backed by decades of Danish engineering expertise, we combine technical excellence with ergonomic and hygienic design. Every solution is modular and tailored to your environment, ensuring seamless integration into your workflow. From commercial goods lift installations in retail hubs to bespoke warehouse goods lift systems in logistics centres, we deliver safety, reliability, and long-term value through a consultative and customer-focused approach.

Our Range of Goods Lifts

We provide a broad range of goods lift solutions designed to meet the challenges of modern industrial environments. From space-saving small goods lifts to high-capacity elevator lifts, our portfolio covers vertical transport needs across multiple sectors.

Scissor goods lifts
are particularly suited to situations where space is limited or no lift shaft is available. Scissor lifts offer a compact footprint while handling heavy goods with ease. They are easily customisable with guard rails and other safety features to protect employees if they need to work at a great height.

For operations that require large amounts of floor-to-floor goods transport, our high-capacity mezzanine lifts are built for reliability and adaptability. Two key configurations are available: goods lifts with an attendant
ideal for scenarios requiring supervision or combined personnel-and-goods transport, and goods lifts without an attendant optimised for fully automated or goods-only operations.

As trusted goods lift manufacturers, we support automation-ready environments and provide goods-only lifts for safe, dedicated cargo transport. Every unit is constructed with industrial-grade components to ensure long-term performance and compliance.

There are many solutions and types of lifts depending on your specific needs. That is why 9 out of 10 lifting solutions we deliver have been customised to some extent. If you are looking for a goods lift, please do not hesitate to contact our competent consultants.

Mezzanine & Multi-Level Lifts

For facilities with multiple floor levels, our mezzanine lifts enable safe and smooth vertical movement of materials without manual handling or forklifts. Designed for seamless operation in both indoor and outdoor settings, these solutions reduce bottlenecks and improve throughput.

Our mezzanine pallet lifts support efficient access between work zones in warehousing and production. When internal shaft space is limited, external goods lifts offer a reliable and space-saving alternative. Combined with platform goods lifts and floor goods lift options, we ensure optimal configuration for any layout.

Tailored Solutions for Your Industry

We serve all industries, even those requiring high degrees of safety (ATEX or work condition related) and sanitary requirements. From logistics hubs to pharmaceutical plants, our goods lifts are engineered to solve real-world challenges with best-in-class sector-specific adaptability.

In food and cleanroom environments, our commercial goods lifts feature stainless steel finishes and hygienic design principles. For hygienic lifting applications we also provide single scissor stainless steel lifting tables.

Regardless of sector, our expertise in ergonomic, scalable lifting solutions ensures that each system is designed for purpose, performance, and longevity.

Accessibility & Special Applications

In environments where accessibility is essential, vertical lifting solutions such as vertical platform wheelchair lifts ensure safe and barrier-free access between floor levels.

For specialised vertical transport solutions, systems such as mast lifts are also available, providing efficient lifting where space constraints or structural requirements differ from traditional lift designs.

The TRANSLYFT Advantage

Choosing TRANSLYFT means selecting more than a product. It is a partnership built on engineering excellence, customer understanding, and reliable performance. Whether researching the applicability of goods lifts for your business or looking for a specific goods lift for regulated industries, we support our customers from concept through to implementation.

Our goods elevators and lifts are engineered and manufactured in Denmark, backed by quality craftsmanship and a responsive service model. Our lifts are integrable, automation-ready, adaptable, and constructed for long-term operational integrity.

For those evaluating goods lift costs or long-term return on investment, we provide efficient, compliant solutions aligned with operational and financial goals. Our specialists help by reviewing your requirements and the specifications of the lift, thereby preventing over-customisation, thereby reducing the acquisition costs of the lift.

  • What is a goods lift?

A goods lift is a lifting solution designed to transport goods, pallets, and other heavy or large equipment between different floor levels. Unlike passenger lifts, goods lifts are intended solely for moving materials and are commonly used in warehouses, factories, retail premises, and industrial buildings.

  • What is the difference between a goods lift and a freight lift?

The terms goods lift and freight lift refer to the same type of lifting equipment. Both are designed to transport goods rather than people. The term "Goods lift" is mostly used in the UK and Europe, while "freight lift" is more often used in North America. Regardless of the terminology, both provide a safe and efficient solution for vertical material handling.

  • Where are goods lifts used?

TRANSLYFT goods lifts are used wherever materials need to be moved safely and efficiently between levels. Typical areas of application include:

    • Warehouses and distribution centres
    • Production and manufacturing facilities
    • Industrial and commercial buildings
    • Retail and logistics environments

The specific application depends on processes, space constraints, lift heights and load requirements, and is not limited to fixed standard scenarios.

  • How much does a goods lift cost?

The cost of a goods lift depends on many different factors like as travel height, size of the platform, lifting capacity, number of stops, installation requirements, and optional safety features. Every project is different, so most goods lifts are individually specified and priced according to the customer's setup and requirements.

  • Do goods lifts require planning permission?

Goods lifts installed inside an already existing building often do not require planning permission. However, in projects that involve listed buildings, structural alterations, external lift shafts, or significant changes to the building may require planning approval or compliance with local building regulations. Requirements vary depending on the location and nature of the installation which is why it is important to check up with your relevant planning authority before installation.

  • Can a goods lift carry people?

Both yes and no. A standard goods lift is designed exclusively for transporting goods and must not be used to carry passengers unless it has been specifically designed, certified, and approved for both goods and passenger transport. Translyft can deliver both goods lifts and goods lifts with attendants.

  • Can a goods lift be customised?

Yes. Goods lifts can be customised to suit specific applications, including platform dimensions, lifting capacity, travel height, interlocked gates, loading angles, and automated systems. Translyft designs solutions that integrate with existing and new production lines, warehouses, and logistics operations.

  • What is the maximum travel height of a goods lift?

The maximum travel height depends on the design of the goods lift and the building in which it is installed. Translyft manufactures goods lifts with customised lifting heights to suit applications ranging from two floor installations to multi-story industrial buildings.

  • How often should a goods lift be serviced?

Goods lifts should be inspected and serviced at least once a year and some setups even more frequently in accordance with local regulations and our recommendations. Routine maintenance helps ensure safe operation, minimise downtime, and maximise the lifespan of the lift.

  • Are goods lifts safe?

Yes. Modern goods lifts have a range of safety features, including interlocked doors, emergency stop systems, overload protection, safety edges, and mechanical locking devices. When the lift is correctly installed and maintained, it is a safe and reliable method of transporting goods between levels.

  • Can a goods lift be installed outside?

Yes. A Goods lift can be designed for outdoor use with for instance a galvanised or weather resistant construction. This is necessary for continuing operations with loading bays, distribution centres, and other external industrial environments.
