Anti-slip paint

Anti-slip Paint for Lifting Tables

Translyft anti-slip paint is a grit coating designed for lifting tables and lifting platforms. It adds a slip-resistant grit finish to the surface, improving traction in environments exposed to moisture, oils, or debris.

Translyft grit paint is a practical solution for lifting equipment subject to EN 1570 regulations that require slip-resistant platform surfaces for personnel operating above 0.5 metres. The coating also creates a more uniform platform surface compared to conventional anti-slip solutions like tear-drop or chequer plates, which significantly reduces noise from pallet trucks and roll cages while improving handling stability during goods transport.

Technical specification, application and compatibility

Translyft grip paint combines a solution for a durable coating with specialised grit to create a heavy-duty slip-resistant surface profile. The paint is available in the full spectrum of RAL colours.

The coating can be rolled or sprayed directly onto the platform surface. While designed for the full range of Translyft lifting tables, the non-slip paint can also be applied to a wide variety of metal surfaces where additional traction is required. This includes conventional anti-slip profiles such as metallic diamond plates, which may lose effectiveness in environments exposed to moisture, oils or other contaminants.

Translyft grit paint is suitable for:

  • lifting tables
  • loading platforms
  • ramps
  • work platforms
  • smooth metal surfaces

Translyft grit paint is available in the full spectrum of RAL colours to match existing machinery, equipment, or company branding.

Retrofit and New Installations

You can order the application of the anti-slip finish to new Translyft lifting tables during production or purchase it as a retrofit solution for existing installations.

The coating provides durable adhesion to standard metal surfaces and can be applied to your new lifting solution. A new topping of anti-slip paint can be reapplied when the first one has been worn down.

Advantages of Translyft Anti-slip Paint for Lifting Tables

Translyft grip paint offers several practical advantages for lifting tables and industrial platform applications:

  • Improved Safety
The grit-textured surface helps reduce the risk of slips and falls for personnel working on lifting platforms.
Unlike standard tear-drop plates, which can become slippery when exposed to water, oils, or contaminants, the Translyft coating is designed to maintain traction in demanding industrial environments.
  • Reduced Noise
Compared with metal tear-drop plates, the painted surface produces less operational noise when pallet trucks or roll cages move across the platform. This can be particularly beneficial in residential areas, indoor logistics environments, and other noise-sensitive workplaces.
  • Improved Handling Stability
Unlike the raised ridges of a chequer plate, the painted surface is more uniform, which reduces vibration and unwanted shifting of goods during transport across the lifting platform.

Durability and Maintenance

The anti-slip paint is designed for heavy industrial use. The lifespan of the surface depends on operating conditions, traffic frequency, and the type of load handled on the platform.

To maintain safe traction levels, the surface should be inspected regularly. If the textured profile begins to wear smooth, the platform should be cleaned and a new layer of anti-slip paint applied to restore slip resistance.

FAQ Anti-slip paint
  • What is anti-slip paint?

Anti-slip paint is a grit-based surface coating applied to lifting tables and other metal platforms to improve grip and walking stability. The textured finish increases traction in industrial environments where surfaces may be exposed to water, oils, dust, or other contaminants.

  • Is Translyft anti-slip paint suitable for galvanised steel?

No. Anti-slip paint is not recommended for galvanised steel. If an anti-slip surface is needed, a galvanised tear-drop plate would be the optimal solution.

  • What slip resistance rating is recommended for industrial anti-slip paint?

Slip resistance requirements for industrial floors are commonly measured using the DIN 51130 R-scale or Pendulum Test Value (PTV) standards. In standard production, warehouse, and assembly environments, surfaces typically require a minimum slip resistance rating of R10. Areas exposed to moisture, oils, or frequent contamination, such as loading bays, ramps, and washdown zones, often require industrial anti-slip paint with a higher R12 or R13 slip resistance classification.
