A bespoke dock lift was designed and installed as part of a new-build development at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. We delivered a bespoke lifting solution for the hospital’s Facilities Management stores department, fully integrated within the new facility.

The project required a dock lift solution that could meet both the architectural requirements of the new-build hospital and the operational demands of a busy healthcare environment.
Working alongside the main contractor, project team, and architects, particular attention was given to ensuring the lift integrated seamlessly within the building layout, loading area, and surrounding infrastructure. All dimensions, safety features, and operational functions were developed to align with the architect’s specifications and the day-to-day requirements of the Facilities Management team.
As the dock lift would be installed outside, the equipment also needed to withstand continuous exposure to rain, snow, and changing environmental conditions.
A fully bespoke dock lift was designed, manufactured, and installed specifically for the QMC Hospital project.
Throughout the design phase, our engineering and project teams collaborated closely with the site team to ensure complete accuracy before manufacture commenced. Detailed surveys, technical drawings, and dimensional checks were carried out to guarantee the dock lift would fit perfectly within the new-build.
To provide long-term durability in the outdoor environment, the dock lift was galvanised for enhanced protection against weather exposure and corrosion.
Following manufacture, the dock lift was installed and commissioned in line with the overall construction programme. All testing and safety inspections were completed prior to final handover.
The completed installation delivered a galvanized, robust, and reliable dock lift solution, purpose-built to support the movement of goods and equipment within one of the UK’s busiest healthcare environments.
The bespoke design enabled efficient integration within the new hospital facility while providing the Facilities Management team with a safe and dependable lifting system from day one.
