Cargo lifts

Material may be transferred from one floor to another using a cargo lift or goods lift. Cargo lifts, which are based on our scissor structure, are designed for usage between multiple floors and mezzanines up to 4500 mm in height. A cargo lift is particularly useful in a warehouse or retail establishment when vast numbers of things must be transferred from one height to another.

A Translyft cargo lift increases efficiency and production while relieving your staff of the daily strains associated with bending and lifting. Beca

Where can a cargo lift be used?

A cargo lift is a type of lifting table that is commonly used in a variety of sectors and organizations. Warehouses, manufacturing plants, storage facilities, and distribution hubs are a few examples. A cargo lift will readily improve working conditions when heavy items of equipment or commodities are carried between levels. Using a manual pallet jack or a pallet lifter, an operator may simply fill the goods lift with pallets, bulky merchandise, and other items.

We can design a products lift that is both functional and visually pleasing to your office. To make the cargo lift appear attractive, let us create one that merges in with the industrial background, white surfaces, or even a glass shafted version. Whatever type you pick, the lift is strong, solid, and dependable. It is based on our scissor lift design.

FAQ

Find ansvers to all your cargo lift questions here.

  • What is a cargo lift?

A cargo lift is a lifting platform designed to transport goods, equipment, pallets, and other heavy loads between different floor levels safely. Unlike passenger lifts, cargo lifts are intended for transporting goods rather than people and are most commonly used in warehouses, factories, retail buildings, and logistics centres.

  • What weight can a cargo lift carry?

The lifting capacity of a cargo lift depends on its design and intended application. Typically, a standard cargo lift has a capacity ranging from 500 kg to 5,000 kg, while a heavy-duty industrial cargo lift can transport significantly higher loads. Translyft manufactures cargo lifts with customised lifting capacities to suit the requirements of individual customers.

  • How much does a cargo lift cost?

The cost of a cargo lift depends on several factors, including lifting capacity, platform size, travel height, installation requirements, and optional safety features. A small cargo lift for light industrial use will generally cost less than a large custom designed goods lift integrated into a production line. • Do cargo lifts require planning permission?

In many cases, cargo lifts installed in an existing building do not require planning permission. However, external cargo lifts, major structural alterations, or installations affecting listed buildings may require planning approval or building regulations compliance. Local regulations vary, so it is always advisable to consult the relevant planning authority before installation.

Translyft can work with architects, consultants, and contractors throughout the planning process to help ensure the cargo lift solution meets the technical and installation requirements of your project.

  • What is the difference between a goods lift and a cargo lift?

The terms goods lift and cargo lift are often used interchangeably. Both are lifting equipment designed to transport goods rather than passengers. In industrial environments, "goods lift" is the more commonly used term in Europe, while "cargo lift" is frequently used internationally. Regardless of the terminology, both systems are designed to move materials between different levels safely.

  • Can a cargo lift transport people?

No. A cargo lift is designed exclusively for transporting goods unless it has been specifically engineered, certified, and approved as a passenger carrying lifting platform. At Translyft we deliver both cargo lifts for goods only but also for cargo lifts with personnel.

  • What industries use cargo lifts?

Cargo lifts are used widely in many industries, such as logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, food processing, retail, pharmaceuticals, automotive production, and construction. They provide a safe and efficient method of moving goods between floors while also reducing manual handling.

  • Can a cargo lift be customised?

Yes. Cargo lifts can be customised to suit your specific needs, including the capacity, platform dimensions, travel height, rails and gates, safety features, control systems, and finish such as painted, galvanised, or stainless steel construction.

  • Are cargo lifts safe?

Yes. Modern cargo lifts are equipped with numerous safety features, including emergency stop systems, safety edges, interlocked gates, and other safety devices. When installed correctly and maintained regularly, cargo lifts are a reliable and safe solution for transporting your goods.

  • How often should a cargo lift be serviced?

At least once a year the cargo lift will need to be serviced. Some setups require servicing more often. Always check local regulations and our recommendations. Routine maintenance helps ensure reliable operation, avoid downtime, extends the lifespan of the lift, and make sure that the lift is compliant with safety standards.

We have many years of expertise building cargo lifts and can help you discover the best solution for your company. There may be space constraints for a cargo lift, or your product may require special dimensions or a higher capacity. In any case, we can provide the goods lift that is best suited to your business and requirements.

Ergonomics and cargo lifts

Carrying heavy goods or commodities up or down stairwells between levels is not encouraged since it can be dangerous and cause accidents. This will be avoided with the use of a cargo lift. This will make the transport between levels quicker and smoother and heightens efficiency in a busy work place.

A cargo lift is a trustworthy and sturdy option for lifting big objects in the workplace.

A cargo lift makes your employees' jobs easier. Avoiding heavy repetitive lifting between levels and other stresses on their bodies improves their health, and you can be confident that you will have your team for many years to come without having to deal with tiny or severe injuries to backs and knees that lead to MSD's.
