The venue previously relied on manual stage setup. A tiered seating arrangement had to be
assembled and flooring installed manually. The process required time, coordination, and physical
effort.
The venue needed a more flexible solution that could support different event formats. The stage had
to function both as a tiered seating arrangement, as a flat surface to extend the stage area, or
create space for standing guests in front of the stage.
A key requirement was the ability to handle rhythmic crowd loading. Audiences often stand, jump,
and move in sync with music, which creates dynamic forces on the structure. This demanded a high level of strength and stability.
There were also strict regulatory and safety requirements for stage lifts. Only a limited number of
suppliers could meet these specifications. Translyft was the only provider in Denmark able to deliver
a compliant solution, while also offering a competitive price.
The new solution had to integrate with the existing pit and align with the surrounding stage, including
the installation of a wooden flooring. The installation timeline was constrained to approximately three
weeks due to a tight booking schedule at the venue.

Translyft designed and delivered a hydraulic stage lift divided into three segments. Each segment measures18,000 x 1,830 mm. The solution allows the platform to be adjusted to form
tiered seating, a stage extension, or a flat surface for standing audiences.
The Translyft solution is engineered to handle crowd-induced rhythmic loading. The structure
provides the required strength and stability to support dynamic audience movement during concerts
and live events.
To ensure safe and precise operation, the lift is installed level despite unevenness in the existing floor. It is integrated into the original orchestra pit, enabling installation without modifications to the building.
Translyft also delivered a subfloor mounted on top of the lift. A local contractor installed the final
wooden surface to match the existing stage design.
The lift includes safety features such as light and sound indicators during operation. In accordance with safety requirements, no persons are allowed on the platform when it changes from one setup to another. The stage is designed with acoustic damping to reduce noise from footsteps and movement.
Translyft completed the installation within the limited timeframe. Specifications and design were defined early in the process, ensuring efficient execution.

The Culture Yard now operates a flexible stage system that can be easily adapted. The platform is used frequently, with stage change occurring approximately three times per week.
The hydraulic solution has made stage changes more efficient and less physically demanding.
Employees no longer need to assemble temporary structures or handle heavy components. The
workflow has improved, and adjustments can be performed with reduced strain, improved
The workflow is more controlled and can be carried out with less strain and improved ergonomics. In addition, the time required to set up the extended stage area has been significantly reduced.
The stage supports both seated and standing audiences while maintaining stability under dynamic
loads. This enables a wider range of events without compromising safety or performance.
The Translyft solution provides a reliable and adaptable stage infrastructure that meets operational,
safety, and functional requirements.
